Biriyani came to Bangladesh in 1610 when Mughals declared Dhaka (the capital of Bangladesh) as the provincial capital. When the Mughals came, they also brought their cooks who started cooking Biriyani. Through them, the culture spread throughout the capital and fused with the local cuisine, and the current flavor of Biriyani was created. Kacchi Biriyani is the most famous one among various types of Biriyanis. It is a dish mostly cooked with rice and mutton in a wholly covered pot.
